Is there a Comic-Con or anime convention coming up soon and you don’t have a costume yet? Don’t want to spend $100+ on ordering one? Wait no longer! I’m here to show you 5 anime characters that are easy and cheap to cosplay.


5. Luffy from One Piece

One easy cosplay is the popular and funny Luffy from the show One Piece.All you’ll need:


  • Red jacket
  • Straw hat
  • Red ribbon for the hat
  • Blue jeans (rolled up)
  • Yellow scarf
  • Plain sandals

Most of these items you may already have in your closet or you could easily find at a cheap store near you!

4. Kiki from Kiki’s Delivery Service

The 1989 Studio Ghibli classic, Kiki’s Delivery Service, stars a young girl named Kiki and her cute cat Jiji. This is a good cosplay if you want to dress up with someone. All you need for Kiki’s costume is:

  • Purple dress
  • Red bow headband
  • Red flats
  • Broom

Interesting fact, Kiki was my first ever cosplay! Everyone always gets excited to see their favorite character from their favorite childhood movie!

3. Android 17 & 18 from Dragon Ball Z

Name a more iconic duo! Android 17 and 18 is another couple that is super easy to recreate. What you need:

Android 17 –

  • Orange bandanna
  • White long sleeve under shirt
  • Black T-Shirt
  • Jeans
  • Belt
  • Blue shoes
  • Green Socks

Android 18

  • White long sleeve under shirt
  • Black tank top
  • Denim jacket
  •  Denim shirt
  • Black Leggings
  • Boots & Belt

2. Tatsumaki from One Punch Man

One of the most recent and popular anime shows to come out – One Punch Man! Tatsumaki is the #2 top hero with her powerful psychic abilities. Her look is simple and cute, but don’t underestimate her skill. What you need:

  • Black dress
  • Black heels
  • Green wig
  • Green contacts

Just do some cutting and curling and you are set!

1.  from Death Note

I don’t think I need to explain too much. This is probably one of the easiest cosplays that you can do. The smart, sweets-loving L – what you need is:

  • White long-sleeve shirt
  • Blue jeans
  • Eyeliner


These ideas will help you improvise and come up with a great costume that everyone will recognize. Being a part of the cosplay community doesn’t have to be expensive. I like to go to my local thrift store to pick up similar looking clothing items and put them together to look like my favorite anime characters!
